We logged every arbitrage opportunity across 140+ Australian bookmakers for 30 days. Here's how often they appear, how long they last, and whether you can actually profit from them.
The average Australian punter loses thousands per year. We analysed the real data and compared it to what data-driven bettors achieve.
Box 1 is supposed to be the best draw in greyhound racing. We measured 2,000+ races to find out if it's actually true — and which tracks break the pattern.
Arbitrage betting sounds too good to be true — guaranteed profit from price discrepancies between bookmakers. But how often do these opportunities actually appear? We measured it.
For 30 days in August 2026, we logged every arbitrage opportunity that appeared across 140+ Australian bookmakers. An arbitrage is defined as a set of bets across two or more books where the combined implied probability is below 100%, guaranteeing a profit regardless of outcome.
We tracked: which sport, which books, how long the window lasted, the profit margin, and whether the arb was actually executable (some are too fast to place bets manually).
| Sport | Avg Arbs/Day | Avg Window | Avg Profit |
|---|---|---|---|
| AFL | 4.2 | 3.8 min | 1.8% |
| NRL | 3.1 | 4.1 min | 2.1% |
| NBA | 2.8 | 5.2 min | 2.4% |
| EPL | 2.4 | 4.6 min | 1.9% |
| Tennis | 1.8 | 6.1 min | 2.6% |
| Other | 1.2 | 7.3 min | 3.1% |
| Total | 15.5 | 4.2 min | 2.1% |
The math works. But the execution is where most people fail. Here's what the data tells us about actually profiting:
Arbitrage betting works in Australia. The opportunities are there, the math is sound, and the profits are real. But it requires discipline, speed, and multiple accounts. It's not passive income — it's a job.
For most punters, a better approach is using arbitrage data to inform your betting decisions rather than executing every arb. When you see an arb, it tells you which book has the best price — and that's valuable even if you don't place the other leg.
