Prediction Markets Australia – Polymarket & Kalshi Odds
Event contracts read as live probabilities. Krok Odds blends de-vigged Polymarket and Kalshi prices into our model as an extra consensus signal.
What are prediction markets?
A prediction market is an exchange where people trade contracts on whether a future event will happen. Each contract settles at A$1 if the outcome occurs and zero if it does not, so the price itself is a probability – a contract changing hands at 65c implies the market thinks there is a 65% chance. As new information arrives, traders move the price, and the market aggregates a broad, money-backed crowd into a single number.
Because there is no bookmaker margin baked in and the price is set by supply and demand, prediction markets are often a sharp, low-margin read on true probability – closer in structure to a betting exchange than to a corporate book. That makes them a useful independent signal to sit alongside sharp bookmakers and the exchange when estimating a fair price.
How Krok Odds integrates prediction markets
We pull both Polymarket (an on-chain order-book market) and Kalshi (a US-regulated event exchange), normalise them to a common yes/no shape, and de-vig the contract prices on the highest-volume markets to recover a clean probability.
That probability is blended into our model as one consensus input among several – never the only one. It feeds the Value Radar, where we surface the day’s biggest disagreements between our model and the prediction markets, and it sharpens the fair-price baseline behind our +EV detection. Prediction-market data is a signal that improves the model, not a bet card you transact on.

Prediction markets FAQ
What are prediction markets?
Prediction markets are exchanges where people trade contracts on the outcome of a future event – an election, an economic figure, a sports result. Each contract pays out A$1 (or US$1) if the outcome happens and nothing if it does not, so the live price reads directly as a probability: a contract trading at 65c implies a 65% chance. Because traders put real money behind their views and the price moves on new information, prediction markets are often a sharp, low-margin read on true probability.
What are Polymarket and Kalshi?
Polymarket is an on-chain prediction market with a central limit order book, best known for high-volume political, economic and crypto markets. Kalshi is a US-regulated event exchange offering contracts on a similar range of outcomes. Both express probabilities as yes/no contract prices. Krok Odds pulls both, normalises them to a common shape, and treats the highest-volume markets as an extra consensus signal alongside sharp bookmakers and the betting exchange.
How does Krok Odds use prediction markets?
We de-vig the contract prices on the highest-volume Polymarket and Kalshi markets and blend those probabilities into our model as one more consensus input – never the only one. The result feeds the Value Radar, where we surface where our model disagrees with the prediction markets, and it sharpens the fair-price baseline used for +EV detection. Prediction-market data is a signal, not a bet card: we do not present it as an odds you place with an AU bookmaker.
Are prediction markets the same as betting?
They overlap but are not identical. A prediction market is a peer-to-peer exchange of event contracts, closer in structure to a betting exchange than to a corporate bookmaker – there is no built-in margin, and the price is set by traders. The regulatory treatment differs by country and platform, and access from Australia varies. On Krok Odds, prediction markets are used as a probability signal that improves our model, not as a product you transact on.
Why blend prediction markets into model picks?
Different sharp sources are wrong in different ways. Bookmakers carry margin and shade lines to balance their book; exchanges reflect the punters active in that market; prediction markets aggregate a broader, money-backed crowd. Blending a de-vigged prediction-market probability into the model adds an independent view, which tends to reduce error and flags where one source has drifted – the disagreements are often where the value is.
